The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme in Great Britain to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. The scheme began in April 2013 with most of our customers qualifying under the Home Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) Under HHCRO, obligated suppliers must provide measures which improve the ability of households to heat their homes. This includes actions that result in heating savings such as the replacement or repair of a boiler, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation.

  • Free Boiler Replacements
  • Free Cavity Wall Insulation
  • Free Air Source Heat Pumps
  •  Free Solar PV Panels

GBIS is a government-backed scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and promote energy efficiency in homes across the UK. By offering subsidies and grants for insulation upgrades, the scheme aims to help homeowners lower their energy bills while reducing their carbon footprint.

  • You are in council tax bands A-D.
  • You have an EPC score of D or below.
  • You are a homeowner
  • You have cavity wall insulation that is over 10 years old

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a government initiative designed to help homeowners and small business owners transition from traditional heating systems, such as gas or oil boilers, to more energy-efficient alternatives like heat pumps or biomass boilers. The primary goal of the scheme is to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support the UK’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The scheme offers financial incentives to cover part of the cost of installing these low-carbon heating systems, making it easier and more affordable for property owners to upgrade their heating systems. The BUS is a key part of the UK’s strategy to decarbonize heating and support the adoption of renewable energy technologies.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is an excellent opportunity for homeowners and small businesses to modernize their heating systems while contributing to environmental sustainability. By upgrading to a heat pump or biomass boiler, you’ll not only reduce your carbon footprint but also enjoy lower energy bills and a more reliable heating system.

Additionally, with generous grants available through the BUS, the upfront cost of switching to a renewable heating system is significantly reduced, making it a financially smart decision.

Under the Great British Insulation Scheme, you can receive cavity wall insulation from us. This initiative is designed to help households across the UK improve their energy efficiency and reduce heating costs. By choosing our services, you’ll benefit from professional installation that ensures your home stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Funding for your Home Energy Improvements is paid for by the Leading Energy Companies such as British Gas, SSE, Scottish Power, N-Power and so on. They have a quota to fill for improving the energy performance of UK Homes and can face large fines if they miss their targets. The aim is to reduce how much fuel UK households use on average. To improve this they aim to make generating heat cheaper (with new boilers), and maintaining heat easier (with insulation).

The money for these improvements comes from the profits of companies everyone is contributing to monthly, in our energy bills. It doesn’t come from the Government the same way that things like Universal Credit does.
